From Techno: I have uploaded all of the photographs from last week for you all to see. I will be away for the next few weeks, but when I return I am hoping to be able to offer a service to supply prints of any photos you would like, at a nominal cost. I will announce through the main site, the email newsletter and Facebook when this is available.

Bagheera and I would like to thank all the cubs, scouts and explorers, and also Skip and Akela, for making our first camp such a great experience. We are looking forward to next year, and also to seeing you all in September.

The last morning was spent striking camp and loading the lorry for the return trip home after the final prize-giving ceremony.

Well done to all the campers, but especially to the Lions Six (cubs) and Badgers Patrol (scouts) who obtained the highest scores during the week, but only by one point from second place!

The leaders though still had a few hours work left un-loading the lorry when it got back to Bracknell. With many thanks to Ed and Brian who helped with this, and to Ed who drove the lorry - we finished at about 6:30pm then went home to do our own washing!

Friday

7th August 2009 (2:30pm)

The rolling rock wall was our first activity today, which is a computer controlled wall which moves and leans to simulate a real rock face.

This afternoon, we will be going pot-holing, and then if the weather stays nice we will have a campfire this evening with songs and skits.

We are all looking forward to coming home tomorrow, but please remember pick-up time is 12.00 noon on Saturday!

Last night was very wet, and Skip spent some of the morning digging trenches to divert the water round the tents. Then off to abseiling, where everybody who tried came down the wall.

After lunch, we went to the zip wire which was really great. Unfortunately it started raining again after that and didn't stop all night. Nobody really minded and we sat under the dining shelter singing songs.

This morning, we all went on the pedal cars in glorious sunshine! This afternoon, the cubs went on a visit to the Roald Dahl museum in Aylesbury. They had a fantasic time and were complimented on their good behaviour several times!

Meanwhile, the scouts did some crate stacking, where the idea is to make a pile of crates as high as possible, with one scout on top and the others passing up crates.

Just to let you know, these are not all the photos we have - many more will be added when we return home. We are hoping to offer a service whereby you will be able to purchase prints of any of our photos very soon - watch this space!

Today was a bit damp again - but nothing we can't handle!

Archery was the first activity today; we all had a go and many of us hit the target. After lunch we went round the adventure trail trying not to touch the floor. Very tiring so we are having an earlier night tonight.

Monday

3rd August 2009

First up today was climbing. Everybody had a go, several cubs and many of the scouts made it to the top at least once. In the afternoon we went on the Cresta Run which is wheeled tobogans down a sloping track.

Sunday

2nd August 2009

Today we have been making camp gadgets in the morning, then we went air-rifle shooting in the afternoon. Before bed, skip led us on a long hike through corn fields and back in time for hot chocolate and biscuits.

Saturday

Hello from the camp site. We are all fine - but slightly damp. Tents are up, dinner is finished and some of the cubs are already asking what time bed-time is!
